Soon after the foundation of the „Ahrensburg Youth Orchestra“, the support association of the same name was founded. Thanks to this association, the numerous activities of the orchestras are well supported in terms of finance, logistics and personnel. The founders’ visions concerning the assurance and extension of the offered activities have completely come true during the last 45 years.
Every year, the membership fees and donations are used (among others) for the purchase of valuable musical instruments such as a grand piano, four timpani and a harp. In addition, the support association is the main contact for the application of musical education grants for deprived families.
Further areas of activity lie in the financial and logistic support of the various travels of the three youth orchestras in Ahrensburg and in the organisation of the international chamber orchestra festival Ahrensburg.
